Background

Hakeem Belo-Osagie is the Chairman of Metis Capital Partners and a Senior Lecturer, Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He is a member of Harvard University's Global Advisory Council, Yale University President's Council on International Activities and the New York University President's Global Council. He also sits on the International Advisory Council of the Brookings Institution, and the Global Board of Advisors of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is a business thought leader and has previously served as Chairman on the boards of UBA Group and Etisalat Nigeria, and currently serves on the boards of several organizations. Hakeem Belo-Osagie holds a law degree from the University of Cambridge, an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Papa M. Ndiaye

Background

Papa Madiaw Ndiaye (“Papa”) is the CEO and Founding Partner of AFIG Funds. He leads all aspects of the investment process and is a member of the Fund’s Investment Committee. Prior to AFIG Funds, Papa was an Investment Director at Emerging Markets Partnership in Washington (EMP, now ECP). Before joining EMP, he held senior responsibilities for IFC’s equity and debt investment activities in capital markets and financial institutions in Africa between 1996 and 2000. He currently serves on the boards of several African companies and non-profit organizations. Papa graduated from Harvard College with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and holds an M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business.

Background

Murtala Baloni is the Head, Public Affairs at Mansel Commercial Services (Vitol Group). He is responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining effective corporate relationships with NNPC Executive Management, and liaising with key stakeholders to aid in achieving set corporate goals. Prior to this, Mr. Baloni served as the Acting Head, Public Policy & Government Affairs at EMTS (9mobile). In the course of his career, he has successfully developed and executed multiple private and government related projects. Murtala Baloni holds a B.A., International Relations & Politics from the University of Portsmouth and an M.A., International Business & Management from the University of Westminster.

Segun Odusanya

Background

Segun Odusanya has over 27 years (with twelve at senior executive management levels) experience in banking (Corporate and Retail), Corporate Finance, SME, etc., in Nigeria and Africa. Previously served as Managing Director/Regional Head of Commercial Clients for Africa at Standard Chartered Bank Africa – covering counties in West, East and Southern Africa. Prior to that, served as Deputy CEO at FCMB, and Regional Director Client Relationships at Standard Chartered Bank East Africa – covering Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
He also served at various middle and senior level positions in Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Zenith Bank and erstwhile Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited.
Segun was a University of Lagos Scholar, graduating with Bachelors’ and Masters of Science degrees in Banking and Finance from the University. He has attended various leadership and specialized courses in top notch universities such as Harvard Business School, Oxford University (SAID Business School) and London Business School.

Mrs. Amoge Jipreze

Background

Amoge Jipreze served as the Substantive General Manager, Finance at the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) from 2014 to 2016. Prior to this, she held the positions of General Manager, Finance from 2006 to 2014 and Senior Officer from 1982 to 2006. In her capacity as Substantive General Manager and during her time at NNPC, she was instrumental to various key finances on behalf of the government, and worked closely with international and Nigerian banks as well as other government ministries, departments & agencies to navigate challenging and complicated financial and regulator environments, and structure fit for purpose deals. She holds an MBA from the University of Lagos and a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy from the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos. She has also received leadership training from the London Business School, and executive development training from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.

Junaid Dikko is currently the Managing Director of United Teslesys Limited, an information communications technology company that provides Wide Area Network (WAN) and Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) communication links to companies across Nigeria. He holds a degree in Economics & Business Politics from Cornell College Mount Vernon, Iowa USA. He currently runs a recruiting company called Ceres Recruitment Limited, focused primarily on the Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors. He has served on the boards of United Bank for Africa Plc (UBA), UBA Trustees Limited and UBA Foundation, First Securities Discount House Ltd (now First Securities Merchant Bank Ltd) and EMTS (Etisalat); and currently serves as Chairman, Pensions Alliance Limited (PAL Pensions).

Wale Adeosun, CFA

Background

Mr. Wale Adeosun (CFA) is the CEO and Founding Partner of Kuramo Capital Management LLC. He serves on the Boards of several portfolio companies and was the former Chairman of the Investment Advisory Committee of the $200 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund. In 2014, he was appointed to serve on President Obama’s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA). He currently serves as the Chairman of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), a Foundation created by the MacArthur Foundation to assist Nigerian Universities. Mr. Wale Adeosun was inducted into the New York Chapter of the National Association of Security Professionals Wall Street Hall of Fame in 2008. Mr. Wale Adeosun holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he serves as a Trustee of the Board. He received his MBA from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with a concentration in Finance. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1995 and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Aniekan E. Ukpanah is the Managing Partner at Udo-Udoma & Belo-Osagie, a leading law firm in Nigeria, where he heads the Banking and Finance, Projects and Infrastructure as well as the Real Estate and Intellectual Property teams. He has been recognized for his prowess as a leading project finance lawyer in Nigeria by a number of journals, including International Financial Law Review (IFLR1000), Chambers Global Legal Directory, Legal 500 and Who’s Who Legal. He has also spearheaded several successful consulting and government engagements. Mr. Ukpanah sits as Chairman on the Boards of KMC Investments Limited and Camelot Security Solutions Limited; and as a Director on the Boards of Palmcoast Microfinance Bank Limited and Mythenquai Investments Services Limited (a subsidiary of Swiss Re.). He holds a B.A. Hons, Law & Economics from Dorset Institute (University of Bournemouth), Bournemouth, England and a B.L. from the Nigerian Law School. He is also a member of the Nigerian Bar Association; the NBA-Section on Business Law; the International Bar Association; the Capital Market Solicitors Association; and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.

Yasmin Belo-Osagie

Background

Yasmin Belo-Osagie was born in Boston United States of America but grew up in Nigeria. Yasmin attended a boarding school in England before graduating from Princeton University, USA. She also attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and London. After her graduation from Princeton, Belo-Osagie worked with McKinsey & Company where she focused on developing multi-year growth strategies for large organizations till 2013. While at McKinsey & Company, she met Afua Osei with whom she co-founded She Leads Africa. She studied at Harvard Law School and at Stanford Graduate School of Business, graduating with a

JD/MBA in 2019. She also serves as a Non-Executive Director with FSDH Asset Management Limited.

Betty Kumahor

Background

Betty Kumahor is a Non-Executive Director at FSDH Holding Company. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of The Cobalt Partners; an advisory firm specializing in design thinking, software development and performance improvement. Prior to starting Cobalt Partners, she worked with Ernst & Young as a Global Technology Leader and ThoughtWorks as the Regional Managing Director for Africa.

Betty has a depth of management consulting and software development experience across both public and private sector clients across the world. She serves on several advisory boards and is a recognized speaker on technology and telecommunications in Africa. She has been profiled on programmes including Ghana Broadcasting Corporation's UniqFM StandOut programme, and in Ernst & Young's Global NextGen, and led (ThoughtWorks) to be nominated as best African Company of the Year in 2013.
