Letters of Credit

FSDH Merchant Bank provides an array of products and services for its clients engaged in international trade. One of such services is a Letters of Credit.

A letter of credit is an instrument issued usually by a Financial Institution assuring payment to a seller of goods and/or services. It is used frequently in International Trade Transactions across country borders. Letters of Credit are used primarily in International Trade for large transactions between a supplier in one country and a customer in another.

It is governed by the International Chamber of Commerce’s Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credit (the current version is UCP 600).
